Where there’s hope, disappointment lurks in the shadows waiting to pounce. At least, it sure seems that way. We’ve all experienced it: that hopeful anticipation, that expectation of something promising only to feel the sucker punch of disappointment.
Whether it’s something we’ve worked hard to accomplish, an expected reward, or a blessing hoped for, when it doesn’t happen, doesn’t work, or doesn’t come, the disappointment can be crushing.
But there are times when disappointment is actually a blessing in disguise.
Disappointment often presents opportunities. Oh, they may be hidden very well behind disillusionment and frustration. The thing is, you have to look for those opportunities. You have to be open to thinking outside the box -- and maybe even willing to move in a completely different direction.
When struck by a blow of disappointment, learn to watch for opportunity. You may just find that the disappointment was simply a blessing, disguised.
